On my drive from Billings to Mandan, North Dakota I stopped at a scenic overlook. These are just a few of the pictures I took there of the land. Not all of North Dakota looks like this though. The area we were in is much flatter and with a lot more fields, go figure being on the harvest run. Mandan is right next to Bismarck, so there were a lot of places to eat and see. I also got to go out with the service rep for that area down to the Missouri River and ride four wheelers and cookout with his family. It was a really nice get away from the eating out and work.

Montana
Here are a few things from Montana that I saw. We parked in Billings, which is a pretty big town so there were good places to eat and see. It was really quiet in Billings too because we didn't have very many custom harvesters in the area.
We went out to see a couple harvesters while we were in Montana and one of them was on a huge farm. We actually got kind of lost and didn't actually see the harvester that day. At the front of the farm they had the grain bins with a shop and scales too. The first picture is of the grain bins they had. There are fifty grain bins, thirty on one side and twenty on the other. The second is of a 500 HP tractor on a grain auger. It is a little overkill for the auger. We figured that they had the tractor for tillage and seeding and just don't buy another smaller one to run the auger.

This is just a picture from the road on my way to Billings. We came from Pierre, SD and I had to drive through Sturgis, SD during the motorcycle rally. It was actually a terrible time to drive through because there were motorcycles everywhere and they take up as much road as they can. They also have little respect for other drivers so they were all over the road. I was going to drive through Strugis but they said it took about an hour to get through town and Joe, my manager, was waiting on me in Wyoming.

Pierre, South Dakota
After our stops in Sydney and Gordon, Nebraska we went to Pierre, SD. Everyone pronounces it "peer" and not like it looks like it should be pronounced. In Pierre we had Case IH, which is ProHarvest, MacDon, which makes heads for combines, and our trailer all at one dealership.
This picture is of all the support trailers parked in front of the dealership.
When we were in Oklahoma a farmer borrowed our combine and ran a rock through it. The rock dented one of the rotors so we had to change it out because when we get to North Dakota the machine will be sold to a customer. It was kind of neat because we got to work on the combine and see how it all came apart. The first picture is the combine without a feeder house and the second is the feeder house sitting outside after we took it off. The rotor we took out is the one on the left and it is the part that looks like an auger underneath the cab. The rotors weigh about 500 lbs a piece, so we had to strap them up and then make something to pull the bad one out and put the new one in. It really wasn't to bad to take out and put in with the equipment we had. After we changed the rotor I took the combine out and ran a couple demos with it and it worked great. Both of the farmers I took it to were very impressed with capabilities of the machine. When I got back the dealership said that with the two demos I ran they probably sold at least two combines and maybe one more.

Nebraska Sites
These are just a couple things that I saw in Nebraska. Not a whole lot happened in Nebraska just kind of work as usual.
The first picture is the Cabela's in Sydney which is where Cabela's was founded. It is a pretty big store and it has a restaurant inside of it. There is also a restaurant and bar that is themed similar to Cabela's right next to it. The rest of the pictures are from inside the store of the outdoors displays they had. Most of the animals had a plaque explaining where and by who they were caught.
Note: You can rotate the pictures before you post them so that you don't have to turn your head to see them on the screen. That is for Dad, Mom, Kayla, and Kara.
These last two pictures were taken near Hemingford, NE. There was a storm moving in and the clouds looked really cool.
